The Neighbourhood Club opened in Swakopmund in 2025. It is a Goodorder venture, which made us the client as well as the agency. The brief was short: a bar where the drinks are made properly and nobody is in a hurry.
A line to build on
Everything started with one sentence: precise in the glass, easy in the room. The craft is exacting. The posture is not. That balance shaped every decision that followed, from the identity to the way the menu describes a drink.
The identity
A burgundy wordmark on cream, with near-black for the evening. A classic serif for headlines and a quiet sans serif for everything else. The palette takes its cue from the room: low tungsten light, green walls and courtyard tiles.
The menu
The list runs to nineteen drinks, a mix of classics and house cocktails with names that carry the tone on their own: Come Over, Say Yes, Bad Influence, Old Acquaintance. Each description is short and exact, and ends in a mood. Rich, take your time. Fresh and clean. Drawn out slowly.
Short list, made properly. Order what you feel like. Ask if you’re not sure.
Carried through
The same voice runs through the signage, event collateral, social captions and photography: warm light, dark backgrounds, one drink at a time. No exclamation marks. No rules for the guest. Just a clear way for the place to present itself.
Running our own venue keeps us honest. Every guideline gets tested on a busy Friday, and the ones that survive are the ones we bring to client work.
